A Visual Tale of Hong Kong Festivities

Hello 2016! Hello my fellow readers!

This week I want to share with you all little bit from my recent trip to Hong Kong. On top of not being too hot or humind, December is a great time to visit HK due to the many Christmas decor and festivities.

Here are some snapshots from my two weeks trip:

Part of the "2015 Hong Kong WinterFest", the Bvlgari Serpenti luminary centerpiece stole the show within this mini holiday market!

It was lid up by 50,000 LED lights!

This Hong Kong flea market "Milk Mart" brought together the local artists, designers and vintage collectors as well as other young entrepreneurs who consider this as a testing ground for their small start-up businesses.

It was located next to the Central waterfront.

Aren't they cute?
These cute little stuffed toys were hand made by a twenty something young lady. You can follow her Facebook page here.

Also part of the "Hong Kong WinterFest",
a 3-D light show was projected on the Hong Kong Cultural Center in Tsim Sha Tsui.

A winter ski resort miniature and ginger bread houses can be found at the Peninsula Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.

The Hong Kong Landmark in Central features a wishing machine with 80 teddy bears who serve as Santa's little helpers, along with a whimsical clock tower. This incredible installation bursts into life with illuminated show, complete with
music featuring animated teddy bears with full choreography and synchronized movements.

This cute display in Element, one of the two high-end luxury shopping malls in Tsim Sha Tsui, features a small town with nearly 100 Kouklitas Christmas dolls!

Also in Element.

An interesting light arrangement resembling a Christmas tree shines brightly at the Pacific Place shopping mall in Admiralty.

Instead of using a real tree, a group of young local architects created this unique tree with
over 1,500 pieces of traditional bamboos, decorated with special lighting and 50,000 hand-made,
eco-friendly decorations from recycled drinks cans. The tree periodically comes to life as it
changes color along with Christmas melodies.

During this holiday, the HSBC's facade was turned into a giant display featuring the firm's holiday themed advertisement.

Hong Kong feels like NYC in many ways, but has more air pollution and crowds.
However, in my opinion HK features a better skyline and has more efficient people!

Travel Fontaneously will be celebrating its 2nd anniversary this Sat! Can you believe it has been two years already?! To mark the occasion, in my next blog post I would like to share with you all something I’ve been collecting for the past two years, something that only few have shared and will definitely wow you!

Ciao for now!
